Finnish AI Co-operative
FABA is a roof organisation that is taking care of semen exports on behalf of Finnish AI co-operatives. In Finland there are four AI co-ops. The co-operation between the co-ops is excellent as they jointly own all the bulls. The mutual trust generated enables full co-operation when it comes to marketing and exporting Finnish bulls abroad.
Finnish Genetics – Excellent Genetics
FABA is a trademark for high-quality Finnish genetics. Selection for fertility, calving ease and health traits has always been a crucial part of Finnish breeding profile in dairy breeding. Besides production, the Finnish Total Merit Index emphasises female fertility, udder health and conformation.
Finnish Ayrshire – Everlasting Love
The results of broad-level breeding can be seen in Finnish dairy population. The current milk recording figures for 165 000 milk recorded Ayrshire cows are: 8472 kgM - 363 kgF – 4.29%F - 293 kgP – 3.46%P.
Finnish Ayrshire is renowned as an easy calving breed. Almost 96% of calves are recorded as being alive within 7 days of birth. The optimal rump angle of the breed makes it possible for cows to calve without assistance. Finland has the biggest milk recorded Ayrshire population of the world, with more than 120 Ayrshire bulls tested every year.
